[SLE] Kernal Panic & Machine crash with OO & Suse 9.3.
I had problems in starting openffice/ java swing application in Suse 9.3. I used to hang X11. I feel it started when I recompiled the font system to support TrueType fonts and installing some of them. I tried opening Openoffice Calc and it crashed the system giving out a "Kernel Panic" Message. Now the system doesn't boot at all, gives the same panic signal. I have a dual booting system with MS Win 2000, even windows doesnt boot properly, keeps rebooting again and again. Has something happened with my RAM? Rahul.

Can you boot to the installation CD? If so, it isn't your RAM. If it'll boot the install CD, you can try the 'repair installation' function or use "rescue" mode to check and/or backup and/or repair your filesystem. regards, Carl -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

First though, run memtest. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Could be RAM or other hardware. Can you run memtest? Try each memory module individually. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
