Hi all, I've been poking around with lsmod and notice I have mousedev, joydev, evdev and input listed as unused. So, I used modprobe to unload them all, and the box seems (an hour of use later) to be running fine. Two questions then - assuming I don't need these modules (and I don't seem to) how do I stop them getting loaded at boot? And, what is evdev? They were automatic loaded by /etc/sysconfig/hotplug -> HOTPLUG_USB_STATIC_MODULES. But i don't know what happens if you remove this. -- Andreas

That makes sense, since there are no such devices in the USB genus around here
But i don't know what happens if you remove this.
I'll clear it out and we can see... Dylan

Looks like the only result is loss of the unused modules. I'd say that was a success... Dylan -- Sweet moderation Heart of this nation Desert us not We are between the wars - Billy Bragg
