Mounting an SD card with a Ricoh CardBus
Hi, I've a laptop with a SD card reader, which when I use "lspci" I can see is a 06:09.0 Cardbus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev b3) When I insert an SD card it is not mounted automatically. Should it be ? How can I mount it manually ? Thanks, CPH

Hi Danny, I have the same problem. All PCMCIA cards don't work. Sorry, but this hardware is completely unsupported. There are no specs that could be used to build a driver. I have the same problem with my thinkpad here ... This cardbus controller works perfectly here under SUSE-10.0, and did before with 9.3 too. ok, I stand corrected. What is still true, is that the SD card reader is not supported, and there are no specs available to build such a driver for linux. In the meantime, there is a project that creates such a driver. You find the pages at http://mmc.drzeus.cx/wiki/Linux/Drivers/sdhci . This driver is not yet in the kernel, and I guess that there will be a special kernel module package needed to get support for this.
