Hi I have downloaded junkbuster 2.0.2-8 both RPM and source. To my router-box I first installed the RPM, it did not work. It complained about missing chkconfig, I then installed chkconfig, but that did not help. Then got the source, compiled and installed it. Same thing, it does not work. I have gone thru the configuration, and can't find anything that should make it not working. I can see junkbuster in process-list. I have SuSE 7.2 with 2.2.xx kernel and SuSEfirewall. I'm using currently masquerading. I tried to turn off firewall too, but it did not help. So, I'm stuck. Junkbuster is not working. My browsers cannot make connection to proxy:8000 no matter what I do. I remember there was a software that shows which ports are listening are not.. This could reveal something.. Help anyone? Jaska.

Then this is a RPM for RedHat, as chkconfig is a RedHat util not used on SuSE Linux. Philipp -- Penguins to save the dinosaurs -- Handelsblatt on Linux for S/390

Why don't you use the junkbuster RPM from your SuSE CDs? This is version 2.0.2 although the package is labelled as 2.0. This should work without problems. Philipp -- Penguins to save the dinosaurs -- Handelsblatt on Linux for S/390
Hi Actually now the situation is more clear (You know how long it can take for management to make their minds..). I will use squid, and deny everything, except few needed URLs, like banks and other "official" sites. All others will be blocked. Pitty that the workers did misuse the liberty to surf, so now they will loose that liberty... Jaska. Viestissä Tiistai 11. Joulukuuta 2001 20:30, Philipp Thomas kirjoitti:
