[opensuse] mlabel usage?
And where do I find mlabel. I just looked in Yast2 and don't find anything relevant when I search (OS 10.3)
Tsk, tsk... its part of the mtools package.
Okay, stupid question, but how do I invoke it? it says "mlabel drive:" in man mlabel. I don't have a lot of drive letters on my machine. :) This is for a specific script for which I will have at least 3 physical drives connected to the box. I will know the mount point and can get the /dev/SDxx or /dev/HDxx entry, but the drive letter? You define the letters in the configuration file for mtools, ie, /etc/mtools.conf: drive c: file="/dev/hda1" drive d: file="/dev/hdd1" read man mtools - or info ;-) - -- Cheers, Carlos E. it says: mlabel [-vcsn] [-N serial] drive:[new_label]

try this way mlabel -s /dev/whatever: If that shows you a label, then try this mlabel /dev/whatever:new_label_here

No, drive is a letter, MsDos style. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
