Hi list, I have setup ldap+samba on a 9.2 box. After battling with various howtos and tutorials, I cheated and copied the /etc/pam.d, /etc/openldap and /etc/samba directories from my SLES9 server, and made the appropriate changes. Then I used the yast ldap-client module to let 9.2 auth against ldap. Everything works as expected, ldap users can log in, and samba is happy. The only problem is, when I create users through yast, they are added to the ldap database, but with a few attributes (like suseMailAcceptAddress) missing. Not too much of a hassle, I can do that with phpldapadmin. But the showstopper is that yast doesn't create the home directory. If this was my own box that would not have been a problem, but seeing as a client is going to be the one adding users (and I don't want to give them root), this makes it a bit difficult. Any idea how to either fix or get around this problem? -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy SagacIT (Pty) Ltd hansdp at sagacit dot com
