2 subjects in one mail, to save space ;-) About: SuSE updates box-thread Looks like I wrote a lot of emails to this list... END About dhcpd: To those of you using 6.1 (i.e. kernel 2.2.[5|7] ;-)) and dhcpd, how're your experiences? I've seen lots of error messages and even kernel oops with dhcpd+2.2. That's why I've looked into the sources and made a change: in file /usr/src/packages/SOURCES/dhcp-2.0b1pl18/includes/cf/linux.h I added "#undef USE_LPF" inline 130, disabling use of the pakcet filter. After that change: a) the binary run on 2.0, which it did not do before b) no more error messages in /var/log/messages c) no more kernel oops d) of course, it still worked Would anyone want to try that 'patch' and tell me about your experiences (including before/after, if possible)? -- Michael Hasenstein <A HREF="http://www.csn.tu-chemnitz.de/~mha/</A">http://www.csn.tu-chemnitz.de/~mha/</A> Private Pilot (ASEL) since 1998 -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

Michael, Thanks for that 'heads up'! I was just getting ready to install a Cisco 675 router to connect to my new ADSL service. -- JLK Linux, because it's STABLE, the source code is included, the price is right. -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
