[opensuse] OT: Charity Donations Online
Hi All, I host several websites for charities and I have been requested to add a 'Donate button' to one of the sites. I am sure this is something that the others would make use of too. My first thought was paypal but do they charge for it? Have any of you used and online service to collect donations? Any recommendation as to which service I can use, preferably free? With paypal, a donation is just a transaction without an invoice, like receiving funds. I think you pay less though. I see mentions of Paypal recognising 501(c) status too, but that's a US-only thing. https://givewp.com/paypal-fees-much-paypal-take-donation/ https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/donations -- Per Jessen, Zürich (2.1°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes I think that is US only. Although in the UK charities register with the charities commission. I cannot find anything on PayPal about it so I would assume the standard rate is charged. Perhaps I should go old-fashioned and post a letter to their head office asking. Unless anyone knows of a free service? Thank you Paul Paul, this so much depends on where the beneficiant is located. Overhere Netherlands, IDEAL is easy. Worldwide Paypal might be the easiest. But that requires a Paypal account, set to be able to receive money. Which it is not by default. In some countries they don't even charge for receiving money from donations to non-profit organisations.
