I am trying to compile gtk+ 1.2.8 and glib 1.2.8 on a SuSE 6.4 (2.2.17) system (due to a dependency). I have done the following, all as root:
1. attempted to compile gtk+, it stated that I needed glib 1.2.8 2. grabbed the glib 1.2.8 tarball from gtk.org, compiled this without any apparent errors 3. attempted to compile gtk+, it stated that I needed glib 1.2.8 4. removed the version installed with SuSE via yast (thinking that gtk+ might be seeing this version) 5. compiled glib 1.2.8 without apparent errors 6. attempted to compile gtk+, it stated that I needed glib 1.2.8
Can anyone see where I am going wrong with this?!?
Please help before with one puts me in the mental ward.
Thanks! CK

Did you install glib 1.2.8 with "make install"?
And if you did, did you do "ldconfig" afterwards? :) J. | John Patterson / Jarel on Snowplains (telnet to snowplains.org 3456) | | Email: jarel@snowplains.org | Web: http://snowplains.org/~jarel/ |
