Ciao, I need to be sure that two services (namely, mysqld and httpd) may be automatically restarted when they accidentally stops. I also would like to be informed (by e mail) when such a stop occur. Should I start these services via a shell script which basically do a while loop or there is a better approach? AFAIK, mysql does this for itself. Have a look at the script safe_mysqld. It should be possible to create something similar for Apache as well.
