On two 13.1 systems, I'm getting error messages popping up: "Authorization failed Failed to check for authentication: GDBus.Error.org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: Action org.freedesktop.packagekit.system-sources-refresh is not registered. These errors started today and I have no idea where they're coming from. There's nothing listed in Yast Software Repositories that matches this. However, a Google search turned up this: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/511012-uid-1000-failed-to-obtain-... Any idea? tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Further on this, the problem occurred a few hours after installing NoMachine. It appears to have written to both /etc/group & /etc/passwd files. It changed a line in /etc/passwd from nx:x:480:1000::/var/NX/nx:/bin/false to nx:x:480:1000::/var/NX/nx:/etc/NX/nxserver and added nx:x:1000: to /etc/group. https://www.nomachine.com/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Uninstalling NoMachine and restoring old passwd & group files didn't fix the problem. Another thing that pops up with this is I cannot go into System Tray > Software Updater and check for new updates. It causes an error: Failed to check for authentication: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: Action org.freedesktop.packagekit.system-sources-refresh is not registered -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I disabled Apper in the Service Manager, as described here: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/495234-How-to-disable-automatic-c... It appears to be working so far. Of course, the question remains, what happened to cause this? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Reinstalling all the PackageKit files seems to have fixed this. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
