Are there any more Howto's on how to harden Linux with SuSE in particular apart from susesecurity.com? Any other tools I can look apart from Saint, nmap and Nessus that I can run against my own system. What can I run from SuSE that shows attacks fon my system that I am running ie Nessus. An IDS system?? Suggestions, comments? Any other books, howto's, websites, anything that I can read up on. I want to get into security eventually. I already have Hacking Linux Exposed. Thanks Simon --- Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.381 / Virus Database: 214 - Release Date: 2002/08/02

Tripwire is an excellent program, included on the SuSE disks (tho I prefer the older 1.2 version). It can be used to detect ANY changes to your ciritical files. Highly recommended.
