This is the .... 19th time in two weeks? I think I'm going to make a custom action for my mail, don't deliver anything with this word in it. I guess when you sign up it's just to hard to read the message you have to open and say yes I want on the list and then reading the message saying welcome that shows you how to do this.

Leaving the following because for some reason it appears to be to hard to find for some people.

On the other hand, the OP was using Outlook, and Microsoft seem to make it more and more difficult with each new version to find the headers of a message. Took me about five minutes the last time I had to use the thing, and I know what I'm doing. Maybe we could put the unsubscribe address in the list signature rather than in the header. That would be a much better place to put it. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please* "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

Why is it that they (SuSE-e list gods) can put every contact address in the footer but makes you check the headers for an unsubscribe address? Why not put the unsubscribe address down there as well? I mean, if you're going to take the time to mention it, why not just put the actual address there? Mike

The headers are personalized for each recipient; the signature is the same for all. What they can do depends on the features of ezmlm, I suppose. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

All you have to do is click the unsubscribe link in the headers. The headers for mail that comes to an individual has that individual's ready made unsubscribe link in the headers such that all the unsubscriber has to do is make one mouse click. That's why it isn't the same address for everyone. If people are really such sad cases that they can't figure thisout it is somewhat hard to have any patience with their joining a tech list in the first place.

Yeah, but you won't know that until they've actually joined. Best thing then is to make it extra easy for them to leave, despite being dimwits; maybe *joining* should require demonstration of some clue-fullness. :) Jim

"In order to subscribe, please unsubscribe". That's almost as intuitive has clicking on the Windows "Start" button, to shut down. ;-)

That should help ease the transition and make windoze users feel right at home here. Jeff

Good humor there and an apt description of the windoz/luser's world, but I hope that that is *not* how you understood my statement. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery

Following left AGAIN for the people reading who may feel the need to leave. Maybe I can put intructions in my sig.... Then again I'd probably add rm -rf / as part of the process. Ah well

You shouldn't see it again from him. I bounced it (his post so his return addr) to the unsubscribe email addr with his address. It has worked here before.
