[opensuse] .wmv files
Trying to open a .wmv file in Kaffeine, it says no plug-in available. Is there one, and if so, where, and what's it called? --doug -- Blessed are the peacemakers ... for they shall be shot at from both sides. --A.M. Or take a look here: http://opensuse-community.org/Multimedia
You'll need the package "Win 32 codecs (w32codec-all)
If you're using SUSE 10.3, use the One Click install option.
Hope that helps

For .wmv and other restricted audio/video formats, install packages w32codec-all and libxine1 from the Packman repository. CF -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If you install the w32codecs and the kaffeine from packman, it will play wmv files quite nicely. Just follow the standard instructions for multimedia. Joe -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There is a plugin on Packman IIRC. -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Does the w32codecs package exist for amd64? I mean is there w64codecs?

Sorry, that should read whatever Kaffine came with the 64 bit 10.3. -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There are no 64bit codecs available yet. Kaffeine and mplayer have to use the 32bit codecs, thus requiring them to also be 32bit. It may be that the 64 bit kaffeine like Konqueror can still use the 32bit things. I can't really say for certain on that as I haven't used kaffeine in a very long time. Hopefully that will change in the very near future and we'll get 64bit codecs. regards, Lee -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
