Well I've problem with MIDI, so I think thaht, as I am a newbie, I could have not well installed my soundcard (Ensoniq SBPCI 1371).
Alsa doesn't work for 1371's. You have to do it the old-fashioned way. Like so much progress (?) Alsa doesn't work properly for one of the most common sound card chips there is. -Ditto- Xfree86 Version 4 doesnt work for common S3 video cards. according to Suse they are "too complicated". Cliff
My Creative ensonique PCI 1371 DOES work with Alsa. (version about 0.58, I think) It is also very easy to configure by compiling the driver in the kernel (what you call "the old fashioned way!!") On Tuesday 30 January 2001 22:40, Cliff Sarginson wrote:

Well, it seems that we have the same soundcard, the same distro, the same alsa version, but not the same result... So what? Romain
I honestly don't know. I have, however, noticed that alsa no longer works when I change the kernel to a diferent version from the default -- are you still using the SuSE-supplied kernel, or upgraded it? On Wednesday 31 January 2001 00:31, Romain Boulanger wrote:
