unable to ftp from mc
I know that your are supposed to be able to ftp from the command line in mc, midnight commander v 4.5.55, and I have in the past in other distro's. I am now in SuSE 8.1 and have not been able to ftp in mc. /#ftp:ftp.mozilla.org/pub I can from the cl as:> mc /#ftp:ftp.mozilla.org/pub. Am I missing something or is it broken or do I have an env var set wrong? I used it the other day at home (not inet), but I had to enter the user:pass at the prompt from the menu (F1 for syntax). I don't know if it assumes "anonymous" or the local user. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

Make sure you have your email adress setup to send as anonymous password under Options, Virtual FS then start the ftp dialog in mc, under Left-> Ftp Link enter the machine name as shown below ftp.mozilla.org It works for me. -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
