Re: [SLE] Linux compatible 802.11g PCI Card ?
Hello. I currently have a couple of DLink DWL-G650 cards. Looking on the DLink site, they appear to use the Intersil Prism GT chipset. http://www.intersil.com/design/prism/prismGT/ These guys seem to be publishing specs for the Linux community to use via this project: http://www.linux-wlan.com/ So, even though I haven't yet been able to try these cards under Linux, I am hopeful that we will soon have drivers for them. I wonder if the Linksys uses the same chipset. It would be nice if more manufacturers would build the drivers themselves, wouldn't it ? Especially for new products. Bye for now, Stuart.

Thanks. I bet we could have an impact on manufacturers building drivers if everyone on the mailing list would email their support asking about linux drivers.

I have mail to Dlink but no reponse since several weeks. And, i have too a SEAT830 (http://www.wlanfr.net/contenus.php?id=70) and the chipset are Realtek 8180. On cdrom, there are drivers for redhat 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 but NO sources. - -- Franck \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ Fingerprint : 20F4 DBE5 7234 52D6 3610 BB17 D73C 1F7A 9E64 F6A1 http://www.linuxpourtous.com \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+muz11zwfep5k9qERAtJ9AJ98bYbAqalqraaVUS5diLDHxdCEcACeIv8q +975IGt4NBv/djAPcqU88es= =QWDZ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
