From what I've seen in #suse on freenode, there's a known issue with this. iirc, there's a patch in the works, but I have nothing concrete proof of that, just hearsay right now.
How I got around it, I went into apparmor and set the policy for smb/nmb to complain and then started smb and nmb. I will let that run for a while and then set it back to enforce to see if that helps. -Matt -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I found a way from an off list message. You have to disable apparmor completely to make Samba work. I used Yast to disable it. What is apparmor anyway? Thanks. L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks for re-opening the thread. It reall has been a showstopper for me with 11.4. I'm sure that the update will be issued soon as a member of the opensuse team replied as above. I'll be glad to supply more information but all I can do at the moment is disable apparmor. I've always wondered in cases like these whether paying for the enterprise edition would get the bugs fixed faster. Or in a different way. I wonder what information is still needed? I'm a network novice but learned from this list that the update was scheduled. I can't add any more information except that disabling apparmor for a week has given no problems so far. I'd like to get a proper update though. Jeff published updated AppArmor packages. Seecomment #17 of the report. But close to no additional feedback got added to the bugreport. All we got is whining on this list. That's not the way how it is expected to work. Bugzilla (not managers, not stock options) is driving us. If it doesn't get feeded we stuck. Therefore don't reply here. Do it in bugzilla. Add comments if the modified AppArmor packages work or if they fail. Then Jeff knows the change got tested by more then himself. Thanks.
