[opensuse] KDE4 multirow task manager prob?
Is it just me or is the new multirow task manager misbehaving a bit (KDE4.1.71)? Observations/problems: - When there is one application running, the "button" in the task manager spans the entire width of the available space in the task manager - If I set the Maximum Rows to 1, it still insists on 2 rows unless I open the Task Manager Settings.. then to drops back to 1 row. Nothing major.. just annoying.. was wondering if it's just me or has anyone else bumped into this? I did some searching, but didn't find much.. just loads of requests for this feature to be added. Well, not the whole width- about 75mm of it.

Right-click on any desktop icon in the taskbar, select Pager Settings, select 1 Row and exit. 1 row will then be always shown -- at least it has been so here. On my desktop, with a single application running, the button spans the entire width of the available space in the task manager... if I take out things so the task manager has more room, the application button expands. Not a showstopper, but... still it's annoying :-P

Right... and that kinda works here... but not always.. it's now really hit/miss if it works right.. sometimes I have a single row.. sometimes multirow. I'd actually opt for multirow, but when I try that I get a bunch of really skinny app buttons all of which.. guess what... span the entire width of the space available to the task manager. I tried creating a new user and testing the defaults... but all I get is a black screen... no desktop. Oh well.. I can wait on the next build :-) C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I am just wondering how you have the Panel Alignment setup: Left, Centre, or Right. Right-click on taskbar>Panel Settings>More Settings. Also when you right-click on the taskbar you get a second panel with Screen Edge and Height adjustments; under this second panel you have movable pointers. Fiddling with these can get you into trouble as I discovered :-) . Nevertheless, I wonder if these pointers, being moved perhaps by accident, have anything to do with your problem. Left Aligned... which is.. I think.. the default. i dont' remember changing it... but my memory is a bit dodgy at the best of times.

Grey one on the far left, and blue and green on the far right. Ummm I did fiddle with them at some point... a long time ago. Not recently though. C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I think that it should be Centre aligned - at least this is what I have.

No colours here - except that the arrows are black. I tried to find a way of taking a snapshot of the screen showing the position of the alignment marks but the Screen Edge tool kicks in and one cannot activate Ksnapshot :-( . I have an arrow in the middle (pointing down) just under Height, and then left and right pointing arrows at either end (of the screen) with a "button" immediately under each one.
