Yes, but if you have to connect to an ISP that uses MCHAP (CHAP 80) you have to recompile to get the support. Or at least you use to. And it compiled straight out for me, no issues. Would be nice to know if SuSE 5.3 will have MCHAP compiled in.
Because I have seen many people having problems compiling pppd, I have stayed away from it completely and continue to use the pppd and diald supplied on the on the SuSE 5.2 CDROM. I don't recall what version of pppd I'm using but it's something like 2.2.0f I think. Maybe SuSE 5.3 will include pppd 2.3.x? I tried looking at the SuSE website regarding SuSE 5.3 but I didn't see any information regarding pppd.
