if you haven't already done so, install the about:config extension in Thunderbird, then see what network.protocol-handler.app.http shows. If it is missing, add it and set it to the desired browser which in my case is /usr/bin/firefox. The 'official' way doesn't seem to work but this worked for me. Also, do one for https also if you ever use that type of a URL. One of the updates to firefox seems to have broken the one that used to work requiring this 'patch'. ? That is still working for me. And I wonder how an update for Firefox would break Thunderbird in that case? Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You don't need the "about:config" extension. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Is this a SUSE package? Has your installation by chance moved to a different location? I have seen a similar thing happen before. The following is worth trying: 1) type in about:config in the URL box. 2) search for browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser 3) If set to false, which is my guess, double-click the setting which should set it to true. 4) Restart firefox and when prompted select yes for setting as default browser. Is gnome-open already working on your system? I told you that Thunderbird is using the same function to open an URL as the gnome-open utility. Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Got through: Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Config Editor Look for some lines: network.protocol-handler.app.https network.protocol-handler.app.http Nearly all the way at the bottom. If you have them what is the "Value"? Set it to Firefox or whatever browser you want. If you don't have them add them. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
