HI According to yast, the version of kdenlive i have installed is 16.12.3-1.1 but the debug-info/source/lang (not installed) are for 17.04.1-1.1 - The latest version, according the their website, for download is 17.04.1. The instructions for an opensuse 42.1/tumbleweed install, also according the their website, is "zypper install kdenlive5". So has the binary name changed and does anyone know when the binary version match the debug-info/source/lang files? I don't seem to have some features as shown on some youtube videos of versions earlier than mine (its very possible its a config change i need to do). zypper se -s kdenlive will provide you with a list of what is available and where I don't see any kdenlive5 for 42.2 or Tw. 42.1 is out of support. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I don't see any kdenlive5 for 42.2 or Tw. 42.1 is out of support. I can't see kdenlive5 either, must be a typo on kdenlive's website instructions. I was just surprised that when i installed kdenlive, it got version 16.12.3 from the Main Repository but listed the related kdenlive-debug-info/source/ lang files from Applications repo as an option for download even though kdenlive 17.04.1 is also in Applications.

jdd Thanks, i've got 16.12.3 from opensuse main repo and from patrick's zypper tip, see that 17.04.1 is in the Applications repo, but as its not working for you, i'll skip it and hopefully it'll end up in the main repo. I'll just have to post queries elsewhere as to how to get the tips showing up in kdenlive, most of the youtube demos seem to use ubuntu so i wonder if its dekstop related in some way.

just tested with 16.12, whern you set the cursor near an angle, a hand is displayed and a tooltip: clic to add an effect. Seems to add a cross fade (dissolve), the lower track having priority against the upper. the cross fade is as large as the overlay between the two tracks, may be very small, and is shown as a small square orange here (not selected) http://www.cjoint.com/doc/17_05/GEsqkY13hKs_Screenshot-20170518-181026.png jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, i get the hand too, i didn;t seem to get a tooltip though, maybe i'd better go through the config to see if i've turned tooltips off

I just had this from the kdenlive mailing list: Thanks for pointing out the issue. I can confirm that our current AppImage crashes. I am investigating the issue with Scarlett who manages the CI. In the meantime, the previous 16.12 AppImage is available here: https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/ Will keep you updates. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
