[S.u.S.E. Linux] Printing experts needed
Hi folks, I'm stil at a loss about my reluctant printer. As I said before everything was okay until I tried printing with Applix. Now nothing seems to come through to the printer(yes it does work on other systems). I have about 5 jobs piled up in the spooler and lpc says that the printer is printing. No this is not a network. Stop and restart doesn't do anything. I need HELP! Thanks in advance, Phil Bennett -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

I think, you wrote you did everything that could be done with lpc. I know this kind of phenomen with my little print server. (samba) Usually, I do a "lpc up all" and all of a sudden printing restarts. there was an article in a german unix magazine on that topic, they issued a line printer guardian daemon that shoul prevent this. (working with plp) I use the old lpd printing, it had no effect in my case. I now "lpc up all" with cron every 10 minutes.
