Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Yast, ld.conf.so, and libraries?
Next month?? I heard glibc wouldn't neccesarily even be in SuSE in the FALL....what can you tell me about 6.0 as far as features? Seems a bit surprising you saying it's coming out so fast after 5.2 was just released. -----Original Message----- From: Fred A. Hopefully SuSE will b glibc soon ( ;) ) so that won't be an issue.
Yes and I'll be glad to wait till all the problems that Red Hat has
experienced
are overcome. SuSE 6.0 is purported to be glibc and out this year. Like great wine, it worth waiting for.
SuSE 6.0 will release next month.

[snip] I thought it strange as well. I called last Friday to order 5.2, as I'll have a new "box" coming in by Tues. from CSI in CO. They build systems like tanks for Gateway prices. They use nothing but Tyan motherboards, and as a Sys. Admin. at Cornell, I've found that most advantageous. I was told about their program where you're shipped new versions as they're released, and of course, it's a reduced price....$35 plus S&H. So, I said...."sure do it." Then he told me the new release was coming on in July, version 6. Now, maybe it will be 5.3 or some such, but I was told 6.0. see Tom's Hardware Guide at <A HREF="http://sysdoc.pair.com</A">http://sysdoc.pair.com</A>. Abit and Asus have been the top boards for p2 performance pretty much since the p2 was introduced. I believe he has benchmarks and reviews posted. Fred A. Miller wrote:

He may like them, and so may some others. I've had very bad results with Asus in the past, and therefore they are NOT on the "approved" list to buy. We just don't have problems with Tyan. Fred Michael Lankton wrote:
