[opensuse] QT5.9 and kdepim
Hi Installed qt 5.9 in order to develop a qtquick app. This removed a lot of things, including akonadiserver, kmail and korganizer. I miss the todo-list. Trying to install any of these retruns a complaint that kdepim- runtime-16.08.2-1.1 is required, so it wants qt 5.6.1 back. What's tjhe issue with kdepim-runtime and qt 5.9? Can it be found in another repo? I have http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Qt5/openSUSE_Leap_42.2/ http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Frameworks5/openSUSE_Leap_42.... PS I later found out that also plasmashell is missing. So now I'm back on 5.6 -- Med venlig hilsen Kaare Rasmussen, Jasonic Jasonic: Nordre Fasanvej 12, 2000 Frederiksberg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You are on the wrong distro for that. Opensuse leap is about stability, not cutting edge latest versions. You want Tumbleweed, maybe, more likely Manjaro. -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail. Installing a later version of Qt isn't exactly recommended on openSUSE Leap (or any other critical system component on any other stable distribution, to wit). It _will_ invariably break things, and there is nothing you can do about it. Short of not using third-party repositories in the first place, anyway. If you really like using openSUSE Leap, might I suggest doing your development in a virtual machine that has Qt 5.9? Or compiling/testing, anyway. Alternatively, might I suggest not using Qt 5.9? Your application, when finished, will not be available for a lot of people due to the sheer fact it uses such a recent version of Qt. Unless you're developing it just to toy around with and study, it's probably a better idea to target a lower version of Qt. QtQuick should be available in Qt 5.6 as well, unless there's a very specific feature you really, truly need? -- Carmen Bianca Bakker <carmen@carmenbianca.eu> PGP: 2A09 F627 39F6 DEC8 CFFC A216 CD0A 90F1 C5CA 0C92
