Well it seems to be part the compat rpm:
zgrep libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 AptContents.gz | tr -s " " usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 System_Environment_Libraries/compat

This assumes the file already exists, the impression I got from the original post was that he wanted to know what package contained the lib file so that he could install it.
I think he did. There's really no quick way to do that except just know: It's in the compat package. If happened to have all of the packages copied to disk you could do something like for x in $(ls *rpm); do rpm -qlp $x | fgrep libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 && echo "$x" && exit 0 done yast has a similar search that's probably much faster than the above kludge. -- -ckm

There's an easier curses-based way, using pin(1); included with SuSE. -- F: When into a room I plunge, I Sometimes find some VIOLET FUNGI. Then I linger, darkly brooding On the poison they're exuding. -- The Roguelet's ABC
