After disabling the Splash in System Services (Runlevel) and setting /etc/sysconfig Editor +System, +Boot, +THEME (BLANK), and +SPLASH (No), I still get the Suse 10/KDE bootsplash for the first 30 seconds of bootup.
How can I completely remove the bootsplash from appearing during bootup?
What I do is using yast modify the boot loader and set splash=0 (zero)
works for me
I could be wrong, but if the boot loader is lilo "splash=0" may just stop the boot selection graphics. In a previous thread, Ken suggested running 'mkinitrd' after making the above mentioned modifications. That worked. Since I use lilo as my boot loader, I also ran '/sbin/lilo' to update its image. Many thanks, ~James
