Hi everybody. Has anyone on this list tried the new KDE RPMs available for SuSE9.2 available at: http://download.kde.org/download.php?url=unstable/3.4.0-rc1/SuSE/ If so, please post comments/opinions. I thought I might try the 'unstable' release candidate as it matches my personality. -- JAY VOLLMER JVOLLMER@CONSOLIDATEDLINT.COM TEXT REFS DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD SELFTHINK VERGING CRIMETHINK IGNORE FULLWISE

So far so good, the composite manager is handling the transparencies very well (my laptops cpu isnt however :). Things seem a fair bit faster but that could just be my perception. I've only been using it for a little over an hour however and most of that time spent in a Terminal but I'm happy with it, although not happy enough to drop XFCE for it. Regards, Ben

There is a way using YaST and pointing it to a local directory, but I've never used it as the method below sorts out the order of installation correctly, so the --nodeps --force may not be needed. My usual way is to logout from KDE From a VC, "init 3" cd <where_your_RPMs_are> rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force *.rpm Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ....
