Hello, I have managed to get my permissions goofed-up to the point where the machine will no longer finish booting. I get a stream of "permission denied" errors at most every step of the boot-up process. Is it possible to set permissions back to default status? Please tell me there is....... Thanks, Tom

Nope. Ended up doing a fresh install. As it is a server I'm setting up, I only install what's necessary so it doesn't take too long. However, I sure hated losing all the downloads and tweaking I did (except for the permissions part). ;-) Thanks for your attempt to help, and also thanks to Mr. Lundy for his suggestion. It was too far gone, at least for me to salvage, but I'm back now. -- TRBishop tb64710@alltel.net RLU #12043 SuSE 7.1 PRO
