software-suspend for linux desktops
Hi, Occaisionally I come across a piece of software that I feel alot of you might find interesting. This is one of them. Software Suspend for Linux: it is a kernel patch which allows you to suspend to disk, like a laptop does. http://swsusp.sourceforge.net/ -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
I was looking at that for my laptop but from what I have read the patch is broken and will trash you disk for the last couple of kernels. What version of the kernel did you get it to work for you? Have you had any problem with files and what file system are you using (ext2, ext3, riserfs, etc)? On Wednesday 16 July 2003 07:19 am, zentara wrote:

Interesting how do you handle the inherent security problems by leaving
yourself logged in?
