I don't used the 40GB hd with Linux, but the (FAT32) partitions on it were correctly detected. So I CAN'T say it works, but it MAY work.
IIRC, 3ware had these disks in it's Linux-based workgroup server demonstration box at LWE in New York this year. I don't recall the number of disks or controllers, but it worked out to be 1/3 of a Terabyte for less than $4000 US ;). I don't see why it wouldn't work. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x121 -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Well, you could for instance read the discussion on lkml regarding exactly this topic and see that there *are* problems with such disks ;-) Philipp -- Philipp Thomas <pthomas@suse.de> SuSE GmbH, Schanzaecker Str. 10, D-90443 Nuremberg, Germany #define NINODE 50 /* number of in core inodes */ #define NPROC 30 /* max number of processes */ -- Version 7 UNIX fuer PDP 11, /usr/include/sys/param.h -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
