Can you tell me how you like your Nikon D70?
I really like the camera, and would recommend it to anyone who has the means to afford one. I can tell you the camera works well with KDE/Linux, including taking pictures in Nikon raw format and individually or bulk converting to jpegs. I bought the D70 kit w/the 18-70mm lense. Since then I have purchased the remote control trigger. Another good thing with the kit is it come with a frame that allows you to substitute the rechargeable battery for disposable batteries. I have a 1GiB CF card in it, but now that I shoot exclusively in raw format, I think I need to get another 1GiB card so that I can make it through a whole weekend without worrying about running out of room.
Is this your first digital? What did you have before?
Prior to this I had a Kodak dx3600. This Nikon is at least 2 magnitudes better than that old camera. You can be the judge of the quality of the camera yourself. I have a large and growing gallery of full-size photos at http://www.marktaff.com/photos The photos are generally under the GPL. HTH Mark
