Hi all. I have a 8.2 with NIS running on my server and workstation. I get the users as expected. (even tho it wants to mount the /home/<username> via NFS, and i havent figured out how to get a local copy) BUT! I get a LOT of the followiong in my logs. Sep 16 16:08:27 sparhawk kernel: nsm_mon_unmon: rpc failed, status=-13 Sep 16 16:08:27 sparhawk kernel: lockd: cannot monitor 192.168.1.2 Sep 16 16:08:27 sparhawk kernel: lockd: failed to monitor 192.168.1.2 sparhawk is my workstation. 192.168.1.2 is the server. What goes?
Are you running "portmap" on the server? The first message that says"rpc failed" is likely your biggest clue. - Herman
