[opensuse] Rode Podcaster USB Microphone and Suse 10.1
Dear all, We have been given a Rode Podcaster USB Microphone and would like to make soem recordings with it. This is my first tentative step into this area. 1. I've discovered that the microphone is recognised (dmesg seems to know what it is, but there are ALSA errors) usb 3-1: USB disconnect, address 2 usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3 usb 3-1: new device found, idVendor=19f7, idProduct=0001 usb 3-1: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 usb 3-1: Product: Rode Podcaster usb 3-1: Manufacturer: RODE MICROPHONESj usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice ALSA sound/usb/usbaudio.c:1226: 3:1:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x1 ALSA sound/usb/usbaudio.c:1226: 3:2:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x82 ALSA sound/usb/usbmixer.c:655: 4:0: cannot get min/max values for control 2 (id 4) ALSA sound/usb/usbmixer.c:655: 7:0: cannot get min/max values for control 2 (id 7) ALSA sound/usb/usbmixer.c:655: 7:0: cannot get min/max values for control 3 (id 7) ALSA sound/usb/usbmixer.c:655: 7:0: cannot get min/max values for control 5 (id 7) ALSA sound/usb/usbmixer.c:655: 7:0: cannot get min/max values for control 3 (id 7) ALSA sound/usb/usbmixer.c:655: 7:0: cannot get min/max values for control 5 (id 7) input: RODE MICROPHONESj Rode Podcaster as /class/input/input4 input: USB HID v1.00 Device [RODE MICROPHONESj Rode Podcaster] on usb-0000:00:10.2-1 2. I've installed Audacity, which seems to know that there's a microphone ALSA: Rode Podcaster: USB Audio (hw 1,0) 3. I've set the Quality to 48,000Hz, 24 bit. 4. When attempting to recors, I get the error "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate." Does anyone know where I go from here?
