Hello Sirs, I'm going to buy as christmas gift a CD writer and a printer (lucky man, I know). Have you any suggestion for a no-linux-problem "gift"? Don't know about printer -- just make sure it's not a "win"printer. As for CD writer, I bought a Ricoh RW7040S scsi writer, and coupled it to an old EATA DPT card I had lying around. Worked perfectly, using xcdroast. (Incidently, I haven't got it to work in W98 yet -- as the Adaptic-supplied software doesn't seem to like the EATA card! One up for Linux!!)

I have an Acer CRW6206 (on kernel 2.2.10) on IDE w/ xcdroast and it works great. As far as printers I am running an HP DeskJet682C and HP LaserJet1100 (on kernel 2.2.6) with no problem. -=Jonathan=-
