Suse 10.1 XFine2 not saving settings on Thinkpad T30
Hi folks, I did a fresh install of 10.1 on a IBM T30 that's connected to a ViewSonic VX900. The T30/VX900 combo has been working fine for a year with Fedora Core 5. The position of the SuSE KDE desktop is off the monitor; up about an inch and to the left about 2 inches. I ran Yast | Hardware | Graphics Card & Monitor. Selected OK, and I was prompted for the Final Step - 'We recommend you test your settings...' I hit the test button and the XFine2 dialog displays. I adjust the position using the right and down arrows and it all looks good. Hit Save and I'm prompted to restart the graphics system. Upon restart, nothing has changed. IOW, the settings I've changed haven't been saved. No messages on the Linux-Thinkpad list for the last 18 months have anything to do with XFine2. Nor do the messages on this list. And googling led me to exactly one message about dual head monitors and XFine2 appearing not to save the fellow's settings. (www.linuxarkivet.se/mlists/suse-linux-e/0211/msg01487.html) So.... any suggestions? Can I run XFine2 manually and force it to save? Is this a known bug, perhaps just on some systems? Or ????? Whil
