Could you point me to any site for configuring this or guy me something? Of course, I read HOW-TO document? Anyhelp will be highly apriciated. thanks in advance Regards, LTG
Depends on your kernel version. ipchains is the older kernel 2.2 version, kernel 2.4 has iptables, but with an option to continue with ipchains for legacy sites. I have used SuSEfirewall2 succesfully here, which sets up iptables. On Thursday, January 3, 2002, at 05:40 AM, LTG wrote:

If your kernel version support it, use IP tables. IP tables does stateful packet filtering while IP chains is stateless. Regards, Charles -- The box saids Windows XP or better, so I installed Linux
