Hi, I have just installed suse 9.3 on my laptop with a GeForce graphics board. However if I attempt to start X using the nVidia drivers, the computers monitor turns off and the computer freezes. I would greatly apperciate any help pn this. This is the only suse version this has happend with, but it has happend with other distributions.
I just went thru this with my laptop, trying to go from 9.1 > 9.3. After hours and hours of trying everything I could find on the subject, I finally gave up trying to use SuSE's method and went straight to the nVidia site and grabbed their package. You have to have the kernel sources installed, but if you follow the instructions at the nVidia site, it WILL work. I got mine working!
