Thought I would drop a note about using PuTTY from win to connect to your suse linux box. One thing that has always been a pain is the line-drawing characters when using mc were always screwed up. You get A's with little circles over them instead of '|', etc.

mc -a, --stickchars Disable usage of graphic characters for line drawing.

Does this provide the desired result also?

Jim, I'll give it a try and report back. It'll probably be a couple of days before vista rears its head again, but I'm curious what it will look like.
