I have reached the point where my brain can take no more, I'm sure its me but I've had enough.. I have a toshiba satellite 1100 laptop.. I Installed SuSE 8.0 fine (with the exception of ACPI and the wireless NIC card. So... having read how improved 8.1 is for installing on laptops, I paid up and took receipt of the goods on Monday. The thing is, I still can't get the bloody card installed. So far.. Yast2 does not detect the card cardctl_ident recognises it as a "SMC", "2632W-V2" /var/log/messages says 'unsupported card' so I bastardise an entry in /etc/pcmcia/config to add the V2 card using the orinoco_cs driver (like the V1 card already defined does) I add the card manually in Yast2 using the wireless / pcmcia options (save etc etc) I restart pcmcia using rcpcmcia restart and.. checking /var/log/messages, after all the insmods, I get: 'eth0: failed to reset hardware (err = -19) 'orinoc_cs: register_netdev() failed 'get dev info on socket 0 failed: Resource temporarily unavailable' lsmod tells me that orinoco_cs, orinoco, hermes, ds, yenta_socket and pcmcia_core are loaded.... In truth, I have tried to read the man pages and howtos but I have got to the point where I don't know where to start.. Can anybody give me a clue ? Pete
