[opensuse] excessive nepomuk storage, can I move it
I have a large amount of photographs which I have nepomuk indexing and the storage space has become excessive, > 10gb, on an ssd drive. I want to know if I can move the indexes to another drive and sym-link them to free storage space on my ssd drive. tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

And, after looking more closely, relocating virtuosobackend would suffice, but is it feasible/possible? tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

To answer my own question. I went ahead and moved /home/<user>/.kde4/share/apps/nepomuk/repository/main/data/virtuosobackend and soft-linked to it. It appears to be working fine. More than likely, there should exist an option for locating the data files away from <home> to keep from unsuspectingly filling <home>, and leaving those not knowing possible options with a broken system. bug report?? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
