[SLE] SPAM: CUPS not accepting root password - S 10.1
Hi, I am trying to administer my printers over the web browser using cups. When I enter my root password it just keeps prompting me for my login and password. It does not say the pair are invalid, it just does not seem to accept them. I am using default settings in the conf file which are supposed to accept root logins. I am using firefox. Any idea what I should do? No further relevant data in the cups admin guide. Vahe

the system root password. That was in the SuSE release notes when they
added this security back a few releases ago. It's been discussed on this
list also.

Hi Jerry,
Thanks, that solved it. I must have missed the discussion on this point.
