I am switching to XFce from Gnome, and am missing a few tools. Does anyone know the command to launch the Gnome search tool (so that I can add it to my XFce panel)? It doesn't seem to be possible to find out within Gnome (there are no "Properties" to this tool's button) and I can't locate anything on the net. gnome-search-tool. Or you can use xffm's built-in search function (Tools-Find) -- Scott Jones (scott at exti dot net)

gnome-search-tool.
Many thanks - I'd tried every premutation that I could think of, but missed that one!

I don't use xffm - I don't like it much (I use Rox-Filer instead) so that's not an option. Thanks John -- John Pettigrew Headstrong Games john@headstrong-games.co.uk Fun : Strategy : Price http://www.headstrong-games.co.uk/ Board games that won't break the bank

Doesn't "whereis" and "locate" still work in the shell in XFce? You might be referring to a GUI tool though as I am not familar with the ones Scott mentions. Pat -- --- KMail v1.5.3 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.2 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...

I was after GUI tools, I have to admit :-) The shell is obviously still available, but isn't as convenient for some things. John -- John Pettigrew Headstrong Games john@headstrong-games.co.uk Fun : Strategy : Price http://www.headstrong-games.co.uk/ Board games that won't break the bank
