I did NOT... could it be that you are not running GPM? Go to YaST --> System administration --> Configure GPM Hope it helps. mmmm.... My cut&paste didn't go away. Do you load gpm, the mouse driver. I think it is in there. JLK -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

I was going to say of course it is. Then I went and looked at /etc/rc.config. It claims it won't start in runlevel 3. So I thought that might be an issue but it looks like my old rc.configs say the same thing. gpm doesn't show up in ps aux. I take it back it does show up in ps aux. It still doesn't work. I wonder if the problem is the xterm. They all give me a menu instead of pasting. The menus you see are std xterm menus for screen and display manipulations. A right click shows font sizes and a middle click shows various features of the display and keyboard that can be toggled with a check mark. check the /usr/X11R6/lib/app-defaults directory for XTerm and XTerm-color, rename them and see if your problem persists. You can also check the global profile and global xinitrc files to see if something has been added which is throwing things off. nz> Nick nz> -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - homepage is in the works SuSE Linux v6.2+ - Kernel 2.2.13 USER, n.: The word computer professionals use when they mean "idiot." -- Dave Barry, "Claw Your Way to the Top" -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

You could manually start gpm if you like to check and see if it fixes your problem, but I doubt it will as gpm I believe will only effect the console, not X itself. nz> Nick nz> nz> -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - homepage is in the works SuSE Linux v6.2+ - Kernel 2.2.13 The chicken that clucks the loudest is the one most likely to show up at the steam fitters' picnic. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
