serious electronic analysis s/w for Linux
Altho not designed for SuSE, and not free, Ansoft has made much of its high-end analysis and synthesis software available for Linux. It is designed to run on RedHat. This is a big jump into the Linux area by a well-known corporation in the electronics industry. Ansoft Designer is available for RedHat Enterprise V.3. See the URL here: http://www.ansoft.com/news/press_release/060421.cfm Perhaps it can be ported to SuSE without too much trouble--if you need the Ansoft packages, you might ask them. These are very powerful programs, and if you're in the RF electronics business, you need to look into them. I believe there are also programs useful in the design of IC's, and some, at least, are also available in Linux. There are some free demo prog's for Windows. I have not checked to see if they are available in Linux. The demos are useful, even tho limited. (I am a retired RF engineer, and have no financial interest in Ansoft. Or RedHat, for that matter.) --doug, wa2say -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.1.392 / Virus Database: 268.7.0/345 - Release Date: 5/22/2006
