Hi all... I was given two Siemens-Nixdorf "PCD-5H" systems. These are PI systems that use a riser for the cards. My questions: #1 I'm calling this thing a "riser" it's an adapter to turn all the cards (ie nics, video, etc) sideways. Is this correct or is there a better name for it? #2 My two systems did not have the risers with them. Does anyone on the list have two PCI risers that would fit for sell or give away? #3 Is there any place on the net where I can look for odd stuff like this? Hello, Jim. Yes, 'riser' is an appropriate term for the piece you mentioned. They were very popular in Dell's, Gateways, Packard Hells and Compaqs some time ago. Apparently, Siemens liked the design too. I don't have any of them myself, but I wonder if this is something you might find out on Ebay. It must be worth a look. Bye for now, Stuart. -----Original Message----- From: suse-linux-e-return-76797-stuart=yorkshirepudding.com@suse.com [mailto:suse-linux-e-return-76797-stuart=yorkshirepudding.com@suse.com]O n Behalf Of Jim Hatridge Sent: 23 October 2001 15:12 To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] (OT) hardware question.... I _may_ have an ISA riser in my roof. I'll have a look tomorrow and if it's there it's yours. M -- Martin Webster <mwebster@ntlworld.com> Registered Linux User #230322 http://homepage.ntlworld.com/spider-monkey/
