Is it possible to use the TV out function of my Nvidia FX5200? I haven't seen anything in Yast on how to set it up. Simon

Yes, it works very well in 1024x768 with the nvidia driver, not with the driver from suse. Download the driver from http://www.nvidia.com Download, READ, and apply the readme file. But, you can't have at the same time, TV out and framebuffer, so no bootsplash ! I've two entries in Grub one with TV out and one with bootsplash. Ready to help you : - for compiling and installing the nvidia driver, - configuring your xf86Config file. Michel.

You are only likely to want the NVidia TV out function in X11 anyway, so the Console becomes irrelevant after boot. Thus, it doesn't matter if you leave framebuffer open, it will show the bootsplash on boot, and then go over to the NVidia driver, that will take over the graphics card. You'll have TV out very functional, at this time ... the only thing that won't work, is to use ALT-SHIFT F1-F6 to shift into the console.
