Acrobat upgrade...not working
OK, I just upgraded Acrobat to 5.05. I installed it via sh ./INSTALL, it loaded itself and everything was fine. Now, when I click on a pdf file it still loads with Acrobat 4.0. I'm sure I need to change a file association somewhere, but I don't know where. Your turn. Tom -- Tom Nielsen Neuro Logic Systems 805.389.5435 x18 www.neuro-logic.com
Just tested this. Went to /Acrobat5/bin and clicked on acroread. 5.0 came up (which is what I want). Ran Acrobat5/bin/acroread in command line and 4.0 launched. ????????????? Same file, same place, different program. Now, I did not uninstall 4.0. Why? I want to make sure 5.0 works before I screw something up. Thoughts? Tom On Wed, 2002-06-05 at 09:57, Tom Nielsen wrote:

You most likely have a symlink to 4.0 in /usr/local/bin or /usr/bin. I would check this out. If there is a shortcut to the exe in one of these directories then it would be in your path while 5.0 would not be. You can always replace the link...which is what I did. You should also replace the symlink in your plugins directory so Mozilla, Netscape and Konq can launch the plugin. * Tom Nielsen (tom@neuro-logic.com) [020605 10:18]: ::Just tested this. :: ::Went to /Acrobat5/bin and clicked on acroread. 5.0 came up (which is ::what I want).
