authentication problem with kinkatta
On Sunday I installed and used kinkatta. I signed on and when to a chat room and everything was fine. Later on, I attempted a second time and it got as far as waiting for authentication and the indication bar reached 57% but then went no further. I've installed kinkatta here at work but get the same behaviour. I guess that indicates its not a local problem. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or is it just me. Thanks

Me and another person I know are having the same problem. I think AOL has gone all Microsoft on us and blocked "unauthorized" connections. Ugh.
Well I can confirm that Kinkatta can't connect...and Everybuddy can not connect. Aol's own AIM client works fine.. * Steven Hatfield (ashari@knightswood.net) [020114 15:57]: ->On Mon, 2002-01-14 at 12:43, Eddie Howson wrote: ->> On Sunday I installed and used kinkatta. I'm using Gaim ( http://gaim.sourceforge.net ) connecting with both an AIM account (Oscar protocol) and an ICQ account (also using Oscar) and everything has and still works fine as of 10:00 pm EST. Gaim 0.49 on a SuSE 7.1 box. David A. Riggs
Thanks David I've installed Gaim and it works fine. Eddie On Tuesday 15 January 2002 3:15 am, you wrote:
