A few comments re the install - First time round all sorts of funnies as it seems that my trusty 64 meg /var is no longer enough - resulting in inabilities to do simple things like generate ps files etc etc - hence (after a quick repartition) an uneventfull install. Oddities: YAST2 cannot write to modules.conf (or says it can't) - on further inspection it seems that ' modules.conf ' is actually called ' modules.conf.- '. X:: Under 7.0 X4 worked after a fashion (no 3d but never mind) on the ati rage lite pro. Under 7.1 some very strange things happen. THe right hand inch of the screen has become divided into three vertical strips. The middle one is missing and the first one is mirrored where the third one is - this for applications. For wmaker docapps only the middle third is absent but with no mirroring. APM:: Haven't set this up really yet but after install (using the 4 kernel) kapm-idld seems to cruise at about 25% of the cpu on a p2 300 - cpu useage as reported by xosview with nothing running but an open emacs, a static konqueror and a few xterms averages between 35 and 75% !!! All in all - a great product - went in in about an hour and took a further 20 minutes to set up dial up, lan and printer. If anyone has any suggestions re the 'oddities' I would be most thankfull.
